Tarrytown United Methodist Church | Chapel Renovation

Austin, Texas

Our comprehensive renovation of this mid-century colonial revival chapel included the redesign or refinishing of every surface, plus all new liturgical furnishings and stained glass windows. JGA provided designer and contractor services for the project.

Furnishing designs were based on the building’s architectural heritage and styled after existing pilasters and mouldings. New stained glass windows portray the acts of Christ. A shell-stone baptismal font references historical sacramental imagery. The space was designed to be intimate, flexible (communion rails can be rearranged and liturgical furnishings are movable), and comfortable for small weddings, funerals, recitals, education and worship.
