This month our firm celebrates 20 years in business! Thank you to all of the amazing people who have been involved in our firm's life through the past two decades – we wouldn't be here without you. Thank you to the current and former employees who made everything happen on a day-to-day basis. Thank you to the clients who have entrusted us with care of your vision, and allowed us to participate in your growth through architectural design. And Thank you to the engineers, consultants, colleagues and contractors who have teamed with us to bring our designs to fruition.
Bob & John today:
Our firm was officially registered with the State of Texas on the 14th of February, 1997. But Bob & John's friendship pre-dates even that landmark by another couple of decades.
Bob & John, circa 1977:
Many of you know that our two fearless leaders attended the University of Arkansas School of Architecture together, under the tutelage of E. Fay Jones, FAIA. They were soon each others' best man in their respective weddings. After graduation, John worked and studied under both Fay Jones and Charles Moore, FAIA during his early career. Bob spent his early career at Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc. in Massachusetts (1993 AIA Gold Medal recipient).
John, Bob and fellow Architect Steve Collier banded together to start our firm in 1997, which was originally named Jackson, Galloway & Collier, PLLC. Steve Collier (pictured to the right) was a founding partner and continues to be a close friend of the firm. Steve left our office in 2002 to focus his professional efforts on his other business, CD Construction Consulting. Steve continues to be a close friend, trusted colleague, and in his volunteer roles at Austin Oaks Church – an excellent client.
Office Moves Over the Years
Our first office home was in an old 2-story victorian house at 1102 W. 6th Street, which we shared with CD Construction Consulting and with Thundercloud Subs franchise offices.
In 2003 we renovated a 1950's gas station at the corner of 12th & West Ave to be our second studio home. Subsequent to our move out in 2006 it became the home of AIA Austin.
In 2006 we fitted out an empty suite in the Mira Vista office building at 2705 Bee Cave Road.
In the fall of 2016 we moved to our current home in the American Bank office building at 3520 Bee Caves Road.
