Right before the holidays JGA staff snuck away from the office for a tour of the new two story 18,000 SF Education Building at New Hope First Baptist Church. The New Education Building will meet the growing needs of the church by providing Children’s and Adult education classrooms, campus interaction areas, and providing much needed surface parking for its growing congregation.
Alfred Brice, the project architect, led JGA staff throughout the two story building describing the use and design behind each space. The new education building will connect with the existing buildings through a double height community gathering space. This new entry foyer is connected to an open check-in station and light-filled corridor that feeds into each room. All the classrooms have been designed with large windows to take advantage of exterior views and controlled natural daylight to bring a little of the outdoor beauty inside. Even the indoor elevator shaft wall has the beautiful limestone that is found on the outside of the building.
Russell Garner, with Garner Construction, has been doing a tremendous job of keeping the project moving along smoothly as scheduled and within budget. The project will be completed in early Spring 2016.
