Living places—especially custom houses—are a challenging form of design. A family's dreams, budget, and personalities must be interwoven to create that shelter called "home". Moreover, the client usually must make all the important decisions during "spare time", and the project can quickly become overwhelming. Our task as architect is to provide an inspiring, meaningful place to live by means of a smooth and efficient process. Because living places are as unique as the inhabitants, we first spend ample time getting to know the client's needs and lifestyle. We then determine how the required spaces best work on the chosen site, especially in regard to sunlight, views, and access. We strongly encourage our clients to build their dreams on paper—all the way— before starting construction. This saves time, money, and avoids endless frustration.
