Grace Covenant Church | Worship Center
The building’s placement accomplishes two main objectives. The first is to preserve the site’s massive live oak trees. The trees now shade a courtyard that welcomes visitors through tall open arches into the entry foyer, and provides a comfortable and beautiful outdoor gathering space. The second objective is to achieve high public visibility from the roadway.
The organizing design theme chosen was the diadem / crown of thorns. This motif is reflected in stone towers, window mullions and light fixtures, and culminates at the prow of the Worship Center in a colored glass crown chancel piece with steel tines.
