Austin Oaks Church | Multipurpose & Children’s Buildings

Austin, Texas

The first phase of construction at Austin Oaks (previously known as First Evangelical Free Church) established the basic organization of  a new campus by preserving a spacious central courtyard that all campus buildings would encircle. The Multipurpose Building is home to a 800-seat assembly space, commercial kitchen, nursery suite, 10 classrooms, welcome center, art gallery, and assembly rooms for the college, high school and middle school ministries. On the opposite side of the courtyard, the 3-story Children’s Education Building houses 17 classrooms and a gymnasium.

The courtyard itself is shaded by massive live oak trees and serves as an ‘outdoor room’ for fellowship and special events throughout the week. The central water feature has a removable subsurface grate that allows it to be used as a baptistry.
